Your Wedding Venue at Rijk’s Country House
A Rijk’s wedding is a very special occasion. We understand that every wedding is an individual experience so we like to tailor the day to the Bride and Groom’s needs and budget. Our friendly and experienced team are here to help you in every way to make sure that your day is one that you, your family and friends will remember for the rest of your lives.
Many of our wedding couples like to enjoy their wedding over two or three days to include a rehearsal dinner with live music at a local wine estate, which we will happily organise for you.
Complimentary Accommodation for the Bride and Groom
If you are hosting your wedding and guests’ accommodation at Rijk’s, we would like to spoil you with a complimentary night in our Honeymoon Suite on the day of your wedding.
Photographic Memories
Beautifully thatched Cape Dutch Architecture, hundreds of iceberg roses, award-winning vineyards and the Obiqua, Winterhoek and Witzenberg Mountains as a backdrop: Your photos at Rijk’s Country House will be something to treasure forever.
Ceremony
Exchange your wedding vows to each other in the beautiful grounds at Rijk’s, or if you are thinking of a Church Ceremony then we can suggest some wonderful options:
- Oude Kerk in Church Street: known to be the oldest working Church in South Africa
- The Old Dutch Reformed Church built in 1743
- Montpellier Estate Chapel
- Manley’s Wine Estate Chapel
Catering
We can cater for a party of up to 120 guests. Please ask us for sample menus.
Fun Things
We can help you with ideas for extras such as a Bedouin Tent, Red Carpet or Wedding Arch and we can organise or recommend special services such as Vintage car hire, wedding photographer, flower arrangements, live music, disco, hair and beauty.
Accommodation
At Rijk’s we can accommodate 36 people in 12 Luxury Rooms (double or twin) and 3 family cottages. We can arrange for local accommodation in charming Tulbagh guest houses.
